As this study was nearing completion, Covid-19 shook the world, with massive short and mid-term implications for international student recruitment. This publication has taken this into consideration and is made up of two main components: analysis of international student mobility patterns and recruitment performances pre-Covid-19, as well as, lessons learnt from the Asian financial crisis in the late 1990s and the Sars epidemic in 2002/3, which may shed light on the potential impacts of Covid-19 in the short and mid-term. Â
It includes short-term and mid to long-term recommendations for practitioners and policy makers to maintain, regain or develop its market position. The publication is available to download.
