Professor Suleiman Ramon Yusuf is the Deputy Executive Secretary for Academics at Nigeria's National Universities Commission.

The NUC plays a key role in the development and funding of higher education in Nigeria - its roles include granting approval for academic programmes; granting approval for the establishment of higher educational institutions; ensuring quality assurance; and channelling external support to Nigerian universities.

Professor Yusuf is joined by Professor Sagir Abbas, Vice-Chancellor, Bayero University, and Professor Ademola Tayo, Vice-Chancellor, Babcock University.

During this session, Professor Ramon Yusuf provides an overview of Nigerian priorities for higher education across research, teaching and learning, and transnational education. Professor Abbas and Professor Tayo then provide some brief practical perspectives of international collaboration.

Presentations are followed by a discussion with our network Chair, Professor Richard Follett, during which there is reflection on the ways in which the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û HE system can align with its Nigerian counterpart and provide greater opportunity for sustainable collaboration.
